Facts and Questions

Everything you need to know about our tutoring, consulting, and advocacy services.

1. Scheduling, Attendance & Lateness

What is the "15-Minute Rule" for sessions?

I value every student’s time and maintain a tight schedule. I will wait 15 minutes for a student to join the session. After 15 minutes, unless I have been notified otherwise, the session will be considered a "No-Show."

What happens if we miss a lesson (No-Show)?

No-show lessons will not be rescheduled under any circumstances, and you will still be charged. To maintain a fair schedule for all families, if a student accumulates two or more no-shows without prior cancellation, their reserved time slot will be released, and the standard no-show charge will apply.

How do I cancel or move a session?

  • Student Cancellations: Must be initiated at least 2 hours before the scheduled session, unless a genuine emergency arises. This notice is crucial for managing the schedule effectively.

  • Scheduling Adjustments: Requests for time changes or additional lessons must be submitted at least 24 hours in advance. I will do my best to accommodate these, though adjustments are limited to availability.

What happens if the Tutor cancels?

I commit to providing consistent service. I send a monthly email with any planned dates I am unavailable. In the case of an unforeseen emergency, I will notify you as soon as possible. You will not be charged for any lesson I cancel, and I will do my best to reschedule the session if my schedule allows.

2. Payments, Bundles & Renewals

What payment methods do you accept? I accept payments via Zelle, Venmo, and Cash App. For international students, PayPal is accepted.

When is payment due?

  • New Students: Payment is due in full before any session links are sent out.

  • Current Students on a Package: Please ensure payments are received before your package is fully utilized. If your final session date passes without the necessary funds being processed, the remaining session links will be cancelled.

  • Payment Plan Renewals: For students on recurring plans, renewal must be processed before the final lesson of the current billing cycle. If payment is not received, the time slot will be released.

Are there refunds?

Please note that all payments are non-refundable.

Do you offer a sibling discount? Yes. Families with multiple students receive 50% OFF for the second child in the same household.

3. Tutoring & Advocacy Services

How do the Lesson Bundles work?

Our bundles (10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 lessons) offer the best value for long-term growth. Lessons can be used for any core subject—Math, ELA, Science, or Music—and they never expire.

What is the difference between Tutoring and Advocacy?

  • Tutoring: Focused academic instruction for the student.

  • Advocacy & Consulting: Professional expertise for the parent, including IEP/504 document review, school selection, and attending school district meetings to ensure your child’s rights are protected.

What if we decide to stop lessons?

If your child is not planning to continue, please notify me ASAP so I can adjust my schedule and offer the slot to other students.

4. Communication Protocol

How do you handle policy updates?

All policy emails are dispatched only once. It is essential that each parent reads these emails carefully and confirms receipt. I have experienced an increased number of no-shows due to unread emails; consistent communication is vital to support your student’s academic progress. Please save your policy emails, as cancellation notices and updates will not be re-sent.
